A happy Earth Day to all.

If you changed your habits to be more environmentally friendly today, why not extend that behavior to a lifelong commitment?

However, in caring for our planet, don't be alarmed at the politicians' and paid-off scientists' cries of global warming. They'll try to scare you with phrases like "it's the hottest season on record," and "stop the CO2, it'll make Earth's atmosphere like Venus'."

First, on a geologic time scale, our records go back less than the blink of an eye. We do not have what scientists call "longitudinal data."
Secondly, what we do know indicates that Earth's climate is not static. In fact, Earth's climate is supposed to fluctuate. Furthermore, since we are currently experiencing what climatologists call an interglacial period, one would expect the climate to be warming! However, this cycle is completely natural, and is not caused by humans.

Please notice that no one seems to mention the GWP or Global Warming Potential of water vapor. CO2 has an arbitrary GWP of 1. The GWP of water vapor is never given, yet is an essential part of any study that wishes to quantify or even qualify the effects that man has on the climate.

  • Observations

The news media, in covering the Texas FLDS child abuse case, repeatedly use an incorrect word to describe the FLDS style of marriage. The correct sociological term is polygyny, not polygamy. Polygamy refers to a situation where men have multiple wives and women have multiple husbands. In this situation, only the men are allowed to have multiple wives, so, polygyny.

As I commuted to class today, I observed two massive buildings being transported by one tractor-trailer each. One after the other, they both took up all three lanes of the highway. I reflected upon our modern highway system, and its intended purpose. If it was designed with the purpose of transporting large amounts of military equipment and personnel in response to an invasion of our soil, could it not be used against the citizens of the U.S. by a tyrannical American government?

Along those lines.. I was watching the 1982 Clint Eastwood movie Firefox, where the Soviet KGB featured heavily. The English translation of KGB is Committee for State Security. They were called the "Sword and Shield of the Soviet Union." I mulled the phrase in my head. To my mind, it bears striking resemblence to the United States of America's Department of Homeland Security.

    Committee for State Security

    Department of Homeland Security

    Eerily similar..

    "They" Say:

The beginning of a new era will commence at 11:11 GMT on December 21st 2012, coming to full fruition in the year 2039.

    My Bible Says:

"Now as to the times and the epochs, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you. For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. While they are saying, "Peace and safety!" then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober." - 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6 (Updated NASB)
